Here’s a Citroen for C-segment hatchback buyers that want some SUV looks and a taller ride height. The Citroen C4 Aircross will hit the market in the first half of next year as a rival to the Ford Kuga, Volkswagen Tiguan and Nissan Qashqai. Like the Mitsubishi Outlander based Citroen C-Crosser, this C4 Aircross is a French take on a Mitsubishi, in this case the ASX compact crossover.

The new crossover is 4.34 m long, 1.80 m wide and 1.63 m tall, and has a luggage compartment space of 442-liter.

Like its Peugeot counterpart, the C4 Aircross’ engine range consists of four engines. The 110HP 1.6-liter petrol unit will only be available with front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission, while buyers of the 150HP 2.0-liter petrol (which won’t be sold in Europe) and the 1.6- and 1.8-liter diesels, with an output of 110 and 150HP respectively, will have the option of four-wheel drive as well.

Figures...just as we hit the post button on our previous article regarding Citroën's Frankfurt Motor Show surprise, the French carmaker dropped off the first official photos of its new concept model named Tubik.

As previously noted, the Tubik pays homage to the 1939 Tub van and its replacement, the 1948 Type H that was produced up until the beginning of the 1980s.

The Tubik serves as both a commercial van and a people carrier with the 4.8 meter long, 2.08m wide and 2.05m tall model providing comfortable space for nine passengers in three lounge-style seats, with the driver cocooned in a separated compartment.

Citroën says passengers can arrange the three rows of seats as they wish, since each seat is independent for maximum comfort. The first row of seats allows two people to sit facing either the road or the other passengers.

The middle row can seat up to three people or, alternatively, can be converted into a small table, be folded onto the last row to free up an area close to 2 square meters, or be folded out completely to create a meridienne-style seat.

Motivation is provided from the PSA Peugeot-Citroën group's new Hybrid4 full-hybrid diesel drivetrain.

The Latest edition to the DS family and the largest one yet in the range is the DS5 . Measuring 4.52 meters in length, 1.50 meters in height and 1.85 m in width, the DS5 sits between the C4 and the C5 in Citroen's range, with the company describing the car as an alternative to the more conventional C5 with a higher ground clearance, more refined interior and a crossover shape.

The DS5 will be the first Citroen to use PSA Group's Hybrid4 drivetrain, which pairs a diesel engine with an electric motor offering a total of 200 horsepower and the advantage of four-wheel drive. The full-hybrid diesel technology will allow for electric-only urban driving and the possibility of temporary boosts of power when needed. The car's CO2 emissions are rated at only 99 g/km.

The Citroen DS5 will be produced in France and is set to arrive in European showrooms at the end of 2011. It will be sold in other markets as well, with first deliveries in China scheduled for 2012. The car will receive its first public outing in Shanghai in show trim featuring special 20-inch wheels, pearlescent gray body color and other enhancements.

With the 2011 Geneva motor show only a week away, Citroën has published photos but very few details on three new concept cars based on the firm's production models that it plans to reveal on March 1. The design studies are the C3 Red Block, DS4 Purple and the C6 ‘Noir et Blanc’.

Starting with the C3 Red Block, the French firm's supermini sports a bespoke matt grey paintjob with red accents on the window line and the 17-inch alloy wheels, plus smoked headlamps and tail lamps, a lowered suspension, and unique interior trim highlighted by the red leather seats, aluminum accents on the steering wheel, door panels and center console, and what the company describes as a "3D Bulldog carved dashboard".

Set to make its debut alongside the final production version of the high-riding DS4, will be a design study called the DS4 Purple, which according to Citroën, "takes inspiration from the techniques of jewellery craft".

The preview of the C4's next incarnation is out of the cage of with the release of a set of photos showing the less quirky 2011 version. The new compact hatch set to officially launch during the upcoming Paris Salon Show has grown in dimensions and now measures 4,330mm in length (+55mm), 1,790m in width (+17mm) and 1,490mm in height (+32mm). According to the French, the new model offers a boot capacity of 408 liters, or 82 liters more than the current C4.

The French automaker has not yet released details on the powertrain options, but aside from a similar mix of diesel and naturally aspirated / turbocharged petrol units found on the current C4, European buyers should also expect the first application of the PSA Citroen - Peugeot group's e-HDi diesel-electric hybrid system.

The new C4 is expected to go on sale in most European countries after this fall's Paris Motor Show.

Named the Metropolis, the latest Citroën is aptly named because it's about the size of a city block. At 5.3 meters (17.4 feet) long and 2 meters (6.5 feet) wide, it's longer than a long-wheelbase Mercedes S-Class and wider than a Maybach. And those are some freakin' big cars.

Alright, so this is a limousine, then. What's under the hood? Given that it's coming from PSA – which has been shoehorning hybrid systems into its show cars for years now – you're right to assume this is a hybrid as well. It's got a 2.0-liter V6 under the hood mated to an electric motor that together can vary its combined output from 272 horsepower all the way up to 460, driving all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

So who's this for? Well it's not going to market just yet, but take notice that it's set for debut at the Shanghai Expo next month, which crucially follows the Beijing Motor Show this week where BMW is unveiling its long-wheelbase 5 Series, Audi the new A8 L and Volkswagen its updated Phaeton.
