In Frankfurt next month, Audi will show up to the show with the new Audi A8 Hybrid, which will enter series production in 2012.

The 2013 Audi A8 Hybrid will be powered by a pretty efficient parallel hybrid system, which includes a 2.0 liter TFSI 4-cylinder turbo engine making 211-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and an electric-motor making 54-hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. Together, the system outputs 245-hp with a maximum torque of 345.03 lb-ft. Mated to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission, the A8 Hybrid goes from 0 to 62 mph in 7.7 seconds with a top speed of 146 mph.

What about the fuel-efficiency? Audi says that the A8 Hybrid can travel at speeds of up to 62 mph on electric power alone, and cover around 1.86 miles with zero local emissions at a constant speed of 37. Fuel-consumption comes in under 6.4 liters per 100 km or 36.7 mpg in U.S. terms.
