The new 2013 GS 350 F SPORT will make its first public appearance in the States at the 2011 SEMA Show that takes place in Las Vegas from November 1 to 4.

On the outside, the F-Sport is festooned with a comprehensive aero kit that includes a beefed-up front bumper with larger air vents, a modified rear bumper with a diffuser, a boot lip spoiler, unique mesh grille inserts and special badging.

While the F Sport package leaves the 306HP 3.5-liter V6 engine untouched, it upgrades the GS 350's chassis with a sport-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), thicker anti-roll bars, bushing changes, and new larger front brakes with high friction pads.

As an option, buyers can also fit their F Sport GS with a newly developed Lexus Dynamic Handling (LDH) four-wheel steering system that monitors vehicle speed and yaw rate, steering angle and speed, and lateral G to calculate the required rear wheel steering input, to a maximum DRS angle of 2.0 degrees

Lexus chose the 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt for the unveiling of the hybrid variant that we will come to know as the GS 450h.

The full hybrid model is based on the fourth generation body style and it uses a 290-horsepower, 3.5l-itre V6 Atkinson cycle petrol engine, in conjunction with a two-motor hybrid system.

The total system output is 343-horses [DIN] at 6,000 rpm and 345Nm (255 lb-ft) of peak torque at 4,600 rpm. Power is channelled to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential-shift E-CVT.

Lexus says it has made improvements to every aspect of its second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system, achieving both substantial reductions in fuel consumption, CO2, NOx and PM emissions, while also promising performance that is on par with comparable V8-powered rivals.

In European specification, the GS 450h completes the sprint from 0-100km/h (62mph) in 5.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250km/h (155mph).

In the European driving cycle, average fuel consumption has been reduced by 18% to 6.3lt/100 km (equal to 37.3mpg US or 44.8mpg UK), while CO2 emissions have fallen to below 145g/km.

After all the spy shots and all the teasing, Lexus has finally unveiled the new 2013 Lexus GS 350 at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Joining the new Lexus GS 350, the company will add other 2013 GS models in early 2012 with the hybrid and the F Sport versions.

“Today, buyers in the mid-size luxury segment want a more engaging driving experience, styling that makes a statement, and a roomier interior package,” said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “With the all-new GS, we’re giving them what they asked for, and more.”

Totally redesigned for the 2013 model year, the new Lexus GS features aggressive and dynamic styling, precise handling, innovative technology, and a spacious interior – or so Lexus says. The new GS measures 190.9 inches in length, 72.4 inches in width, 57.3 inches in height and sits on a wheelbase measuring 112.2 inches.

The interior of the 2013 Lexus GS has also been revamped along with new technological features including a next-generation Lexus multimedia with DVD audio and video compatibility, MP3 sound enhancement, 5.1 Surround Sound, and a high-resolution eight-inch central control display centrally located high up in the instrument panel. Adding the optional navigation system will give you the industry’s first 12.3 inch split-screen high-resolution multi-media display.

Power for the 2013 Lexus GS 350 comes from a 3.5 liter V6 engine making 306-hp at 6,400 rpm with a maximum torque of 277 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed sequential-shift transmission, the Lexus GS sprints from 0 to 60 mph in an impressive 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 142 mph. Acceleration from 30 to 50 mph takes just 3 seconds.

The new 2013 Lexus GS 350 also debuts the new Lexus Drive Mode selector, which offers 3 driving modes including ECO, Sport S and Sport S+. Of course we’re concerned with the Sport S+ and we’re pretty sure you are too. The model enhances handling by switching up the adaptive variable suspension, steering system, and vehicle stability control (VSC) together with the powertrain enhancements of SPORT S mode.

Prices and other details on the 2013 Lexus GS 350 will be announced closer to launch date.

Lexus has unwrapped the limited run 2011 IS 350C F Sport Special Edition convertible, which is set to go on sale in the U.S. later this month. Only 175 units will be built, each carrying a $55,120 (not including $875 destination) sticker and some styling and performance upgrades over the standard model.

The limited run hardtop convertible comes in a choice of two new colors (Starfire Pearl or Obsidian), and features bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, special exterior badging and 19-inch alloys in a dark graphite finish, wrapped around in 225/35 Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Lexus chose this week's Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) for the world premiere of its CT 200h F Sport model ahead of the car's introduction to Australia in the first half of 2011 as well other markets around the world.

As with other Lexus models, the F Sport treatment adds a number of visual and performance goodies to the firm's dedicated hybrid. On the outside, the CT 200h gets a sportier looking front bumper along with a honeycomb upper grille, beefier side skirts, and a reworked rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser.

The larger alloy wheels in a gunmetal finish and the option of a unique Flame Blue color round off the exterior upgrades.

Inside, those that opt for the F Sport-badged CT 200h will receive unique dashboard and door panel trims, plus F Sport steering wheel with a thicker rim, sports pedals, scuff plates, instrument panel and privacy glass.

While there are no changes to the CT 200h's hybrid powertrain, which comprises a 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol engine, an electric motor and an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT), Lexus says the F-Sport features an up-rated suspension.

Lexus be unveiling a revised 5.0 litre V8 that will be more compliant with the upgraded Euro 5 standard. The engine will still generate 423hp, accelerating the car to a 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. This goes on to reach an electronically limited top speed of 270km/h.

The 2011 model which will debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, will also feature exterior tweaks such as a new headlight design with LED daytime running lights, rear light design, a revised front grille, new alloy wheels along with new exterior colours. This is nothing new as they’ve also been made available for the regular IS with the F-sport package.

Inside changes include better support for the driver in the form of a new seat design, blue stitching for the leather upholstery and redesigned instrument clusters. A picture gallery is available after the jump.

Carmakers continue to roll out product announcements ahead of next month's Paris Motor show. The latest is Lexus that revealed details on its revised for the 2011 model year, IS series for Europe, which benefits from some modest cosmetic tweaks, additional standard features and the introduction of a new diesel model.

Meanwhile, the 2011 F-Sport trim level gets a new deep front spoiler with faired-in fog lights, new grille design and a rear spoiler with integrated stop light plus new 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there are extra touches of titanium-effect trim and a new dark, anthracite roof liner.

Other revisions to the IS range include improvements to the SE-I specification with the addition of rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and new leather upholstery with heated front seats.

For the 2011 model year, there's a new IS 200d model powered by a 150-horsepower version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine of the 177HP IS 220d. In the UK, the IS 200d replaces the more potent IS 220d, but in other European markets such as Germany, the two diesel models will be sold together.

The IS 200d can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 10.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 205km/h (127mph). Combined cycle fuel consumption is 5.1lt/100km (55.4mpg UK or 46.1mog US) and CO2 emissions are 134g/km compared to 148g/km for the IS 220d.

There are also changes to the 2.5-liter V6 petrol engine featured in the IS 250 and IS 250C coupe-convertible with six-speed automatic transmission. According to Lexus, the V6 unit has been revised to meet future Euro5 emissions standards, achieving better fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

While power and torque figures remain unchanged at 208HP and 252Nm, combined cycle fuel consumption drops from 9.1lt /100km to 8.4lt/100km (31.7 to 33.6mpg UK), with a concurrent fall in CO2 output from 209 to 194g/km.

The 2011 Lexus IS will be formally revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month with European sales starting shortly after.
