Toyota Aqua Fun Concept Wallpaper

While in the business of producing and developing cars for Toyota for more than half a century, Kana Auto Works has generally stayed under the radar.
However, at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Japanese company came out of its shell introducing several bespoke models.

Aside from the Toyota Century-based FS Hybrid concept that we showed you earlier today, Kana Auto Works also displayed two prototypes of the newly presented Toyota Aqua hybrid, which will be marketed under the Prius C brand name outside of Japan.

The first Aqua Fun concept is finished in an orange hue and sports a subtle aero package and new alloy wheels.

The other Aqua Fun study is more extreme boasting a bright yellow finish and several cosmetic changes including new front and rear bumpers, different headlamps and tail lights, larger spoilers and bigger wheels while also riding on a lowered sports suspension.

The new Toyota builds on the spaciousness, practicality and fuel efficiency of the current, third generation model. It features a bolder and more refined exterior design, and interior improvements to finish quality, comfort and Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH). Driving dynamics have been enhanced, and a revised grade structure offers even greater value for money.

The best-selling variant of the Toyota Avensis’ six engine line-up, the 2.0 D-4D turbodiesel, has been revised to deliver significant improvements in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. With a tax threshold set at 120 g/km in almost a third of European countries, the 2.0 D-4D’s 119 g/km brings generous tax benefits to both private and fleet buyers.

With a choice of two body styles, three diesel and three petrol engines, three transmissions and four model grades, the new Avensis has been specifically tailored to the European market. The D-segment demonstrates a 70% focus on diesel powertrains, a 64% bias in favour of fleet sales and a preference for the wagon body style with over 50% of customers.

Designed, engineered and built in Europe, the Toyota Avensis was first launched at the end of 1997 and has since firmly established itself in the European D-segment. It sold 70,585 units throughout the region in 2010, representing a 5.8% segment share.

2012 Toyota Hilux Wallpaper

Toyota has blessed its European market HiLux pickup truck with a mid-life facelift for the 2012 model year. The cosmetic surgery starts with the exterior that gains a redesigned front end sporting a different grille dressed in chrome, new bonnet, headlamps and front bumper. The changes continue with the redesigned front and rear wings, a new crop of 15- and 17-inch steel and alloy wheels, plus new door mirrors.

Beneath the sheetmetal, thanks to the introduction of variable nozzle turbocharging, the 2012 Hilux 2012 2WD 2.5-liter D-4D models benefit from a 24HP increase in output with the four-cylinder diesel engine now rated at 144-horses at 3,600 rpm and 343 Nm at 2000 rpm.

Toyota says that in spite of the power increase, combined cycle fuel consumption has been reduced by 1.0 lt/100 km to 7.3 lt/100 km (32.2mpg US or 38.7mpg UK) while CO2 emissions have been lowered by 26 g/km to 193 g/km.

Furthermore, the 2012MY 2WD versions are now equipped with the chassis of 4WD models, which improves vehicle ground clearance and increases towing capacity to 2.5 tons.

For the 2012MY, both the 2.5-liter D-4D and the more powerful 3.0-liter D-4D come equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

Aside from the two diesel engines, European buyers of the 2012 HiLux also have a choice of three body styles, manual and automatic transmissions and two- or four-wheel drive layouts.

Lexus chose this week's Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) for the world premiere of its CT 200h F Sport model ahead of the car's introduction to Australia in the first half of 2011 as well other markets around the world.

As with other Lexus models, the F Sport treatment adds a number of visual and performance goodies to the firm's dedicated hybrid. On the outside, the CT 200h gets a sportier looking front bumper along with a honeycomb upper grille, beefier side skirts, and a reworked rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser.

The larger alloy wheels in a gunmetal finish and the option of a unique Flame Blue color round off the exterior upgrades.

Inside, those that opt for the F Sport-badged CT 200h will receive unique dashboard and door panel trims, plus F Sport steering wheel with a thicker rim, sports pedals, scuff plates, instrument panel and privacy glass.

While there are no changes to the CT 200h's hybrid powertrain, which comprises a 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol engine, an electric motor and an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT), Lexus says the F-Sport features an up-rated suspension.

While Toyota has no plans to re-enter the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with an official works team, the Japanese automaker has lent its support to GPR Motorsport that is building a new racing concept based on the European market and British-built Avensis sedan.

Toyota supplied GPR Motorsport with an Avensis donor car and bodyshell to build to the new specifications, which teams will be able to adopt from the 2011 racing season.

The Avensis NGTC (Next Generation Touring Car) car will make its track debut in the final round of this year's Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch on 9 – 10 October, driven by BTCC double champion, James Thompson More Wallpaper!

2011 Toyota Highlander

In my opinion these are one of the few Toyotas that actually looked good in this decade. The 2011 Highlander crossover made its world premiere today at this year's edition of the Moscow International Motor Show. Though Toyota is keeping its cards closed, buyers in the States should see a US launch of the facelifted crossover later this year.

The 2011 Highlander's exterior benefits significantly from a much more crisp, defined nose and headlights, along with restyled tail lamps and new bumper trim at the back. The rest of the car appears to go on mostly unchanged for the new model year.

Russian and Ukrainian buyers get a single engine option, the 3.5-liter V6 gasoline unit pumping out 273HP, matched to a five-speed automatic transmission.

In the States, powertrains and accessories should carry over from the 2010 model year, which means choosing an I4, V6, or hybrid and front- or all-wheel drive.

The European-market version of the Corolla that's offered exclusively in sedan form has just received a mid-life facelift for 2010 with freshened exterior and interior styling.

Externally the updated "Corolla 2010" gets a new front fascia with a redesigned bumper, upper and lower grille, as well as restyled headlamps. To the rear, changes include the new license plate garnish, tail lamps and bumper.

The new, power retractable door mirrors with integral turn indicators and fresh designs for the hub-caps and alloy wheels complete the exterior makeover.

A side from the new, flat bottomed steering wheel with a thicker rim, the "Corolla 2010" also gets a different combination meter while the instrument panel and door handle trim are now finished in silver coating. The same finish is also found on the centre console and door switch surrounds.

Other upgrades include the addition of a remote control trunk opening function on the ignition key, the new seat fabrics and the a newly available, Alcantara upholstery.

The Corolla 2010 engine line-up includes 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i and 1.6-liter Valvematic petrol engines, and 1.4-liter and 2.0-liter D-4D diesel units.
